Displays index of Categories/Tags or other taxonomy types using taxonomy-index Shortcode.

Taxonomy can be set to category or tag or other taxonomy post type.

This plugin is multisite compatible; default styling can optionally be configured per-site via the admin dashboard.

- Registered the [ti] shortcode alias – the readme and in-admin help text have documented this since 1.0.0, but it was never actually registered.
- Added real settings (Defaults tab: color, background, width, height, line-height, margin, padding, text-align, font-weight), mirroring Page Index. The pre-2.0.0 settings page fetched an option that was never read from or written to; it had no working settings at all.
- Fixed a fatal error (PHP 8+) for an unmatched taxonomy/slug combination – get_term_by()’s result is now checked before use.
- Fixed taxonomy=”tag” always failing to find its term: the ‘tag’ -> ‘post_tag’ remap now happens before the get_term_by() lookup, not after.
- Fixed the post listing incorrectly using the ‘category’ query var (which only ever filters the built-in category taxonomy) for every taxonomy; now uses a tax_query against the actual requested taxonomy, so it works correctly for tags and custom taxonomies too.
- Skipped the sub-term listing query entirely for non-hierarchical taxonomies (e.g. tags), where it could only ever return an empty result.
- Fixed unescaped output (term/category links and names, post permalinks and titles).
- Fixed an inefficient plugin_action_links hook so it no longer runs for every plugin on the Plugins list page.
- Replaced the hard-coded, two-plugin “other plugins” list with a standard, auto-generated Other Plugins tab.
- Replaced the plugin’s shared azurecurve cross-plugin menu population logic (previously re-run unconditionally on every admin_init, always writing to the database) with the activation/upgrade-hook based logic shared with the rest of the azurecurve plugin family, which only writes when something actually changed.
- Corrected the readme’s stale claim that per-site settings needed to be configured, when none previously existed.
- Text domain changed from taxonomy-index to azrcrv-ti, and the languages folder moved from /languages to /assets/languages, matching every other azurecurve plugin. Existing translations will need to be rebuilt against the new domain/path.
- Requires PHP raised from 7.4 to 8.2, matching the rest of the azurecurve plugin family.
- The [taxonomy-index]/[TAXONOMY-INDEX] shortcode names and their taxonomy/slug attributes are unchanged, so existing content keeps working with no migration step.
- Security fix: the Defaults tab’s color/background/width/height/line-height/margin/padding/text-align/font-weight settings were only escaped for safe HTML-attribute placement, not validated as CSS – a value such as “#007fff; border: 3px solid red” passed straight through and injected an extra CSS declaration. Every value is now validated against the specific shape that CSS property can legitimately take (see includes/functions-css-sanitize.php); anything that doesn’t match is discarded outright, on save AND again defensively at output, so a value already stored before this fix self-heals without needing to be re-saved.
- Added a new Border default, e.g. 3px solid red – validated as exactly width style color, each part checked independently.
- Added an Instructions tab to the settings screen – covers basic use, the [ti] alias, hierarchical vs non-hierarchical taxonomy behaviour, and styling. The static description text previously shown above the tabs was moved into this tab rather than being duplicated.
- Update readme.md and remove readme.txt (not required for ClassicPress).
- Update azurecurve menu.

I used the Network Settings feature in a previous version – what happened to it?

Network-wide settings were removed in version 2.0.0 as part of a rebuild of the plugin’s admin interface. Each site on a network now always uses its own locally-configured settings, the same as before if you were not using that feature.

- Added a dedicated top-level “Tag Cloud” admin menu entry, alongside the existing entry in the shared azurecurve menu.

- Fixed: each tag checkbox in the include/exclude list now has a unique ID, and its label correctly toggles it (previously all checkboxes shared the same ID and the label didn’t point at the right one).
- Fixed: the scrollable box around the tag include/exclude checklist now actually applies (a CSS class name mismatch meant it never worked, and the style was also only ever loaded on the front end rather than the settings page).
- Fixed: settings values are no longer run through an unnecessary stripslashes() on display, which could corrupt values containing a backslash.
- Fixed: submitted settings are now correctly un-slashed before sanitizing, avoiding potential corruption of values containing quotes or backslashes.
- Fixed: numeric settings are correctly displayed in number fields and sanitised as numbers on save.
- Fixed: a fresh install with no saved settings no longer triggers a PHP warning when the widget checks the tag include/exclude list.
- Fixed: settings are now saved with wp_safe_redirect() rather than wp_redirect().
- Improved: the Update Manager image filters and the Plugins-list settings link are now scoped to this plugin specifically, rather than using generic, unscoped hook names.
- Improved: plugin admin CSS/JS now only loads on this plugin’s own admin screens, rather than on every admin screen of the site.

Simple Mail Transport Protocol (SMTP) plugin will intercept the standard wp_mail and send emails via an SMTP server using PHPMAILER.

When activating for the first time, settings can be imported from Easy WP SMTP.

This plugin is multisite compatible; each site will need settings to be configured in the admin dashboard.

Installation

- Rebuilt to match the current azurecurve plugin architecture (namespaced code, settings split across includes files, tabbed admin UI, admin-post save handler).
- Security: fixed a CSS-injection vulnerability where shortcode attributes (and saved settings) such as title_color, border, title_font_size etc. were concatenated directly into style="..." attributes and only escaped as a whole string, which does not stop a value like red;position:fixed;... from injecting arbitrary extra CSS declarations. Every such value is now validated against a strict allow-list for what it’s actually supposed to contain (colours, lengths, font names, etc.), both when settings are saved and at shortcode render time.
- Security: fixed a more serious issue in the same area – the title_tag shortcode attribute was inserted as the literal HTML tag name with no validation at all, so a value such as h3 onmouseover=alert(1) was output completely unescaped, injecting an arbitrary HTML attribute (including event handlers). title_tag is now restricted to a fixed list of real tag names.
- Security: fixed an unescaped admin-option-to-<style>-block injection in the old CSS loader, which built a global inline stylesheet from several settings values with no escaping of any kind. The one genuine feature it provided (custom open/close icon images) is preserved, built only from filenames already validated against the plugin’s own shipped icon files.
- Fixed a bug where “Allow Shortcodes?” had no effect on the toggle title – shortcode output was expanded and then still HTML-escaped, so it never actually rendered as HTML.
- Fixed the Style 2 button/button-hover colour settings being saved but never actually applied to the rendered button.
- Fixed the default open/close icon images not displaying, due to a wrong file path and a filename typo (hyphen vs underscore) in the bundled CSS.
- Removed the multisite “Network Settings” feature – auditing found it was entirely dead code (the admin page was never hooked to network_admin_menu, and its save handler was never hooked to any admin_post_* action), so it could never actually be reached or saved through the admin UI.
- Replaced jQuery and jQuery UI (front end and admin) with small dependency-free vanilla-JS files; jQuery UI was previously loaded on every admin page for this plugin despite never actually being used (the tabs were hand-rolled with plain jQuery, not a jQuery UI widget).
- Fixed a bug where the settings save handler called settings_fields() (which echoes output) ahead of a later redirect, risking a “headers already sent” failure.
- Fixed a bug where the “Settings saved” redirect URL packed two query arguments into one, so the confirmation notice could never actually display.
- Fixed $_GET['page'] being read without isset()/sanitisation in the admin-asset enqueue functions.
- Fixed an inefficient plugin_action_links hook and inefficient generic Update Manager image hooks, both of which ran for every plugin rather than just this one.
- Replaced the hard-coded, now-stale copy of the azurecurve plugin directory with the one shared across the current plugin family.

Allows snippets of HTML, PHP, JavaScript and CSS to be created; an alternative to using a functions.php file or adding styles to a child theme.

Snippets can be used to create re-usable HTML or JavaScript snippets or to create PHP to add_actions or add_filters without needing to add them to the functions.php file or create a plugin.

The following types of snippet can be created:
- HTML – can be loaded using the shortcode.
- Internal CSS – automatically added as internal stylesheet.
- CSS Stylesheet – automatically loaded.
- Internal JavaScript – automatically added as internal JavaScript.
- JavaScript File – automatically loaded.
- PHP – can be loaded using the shortcode (advanced mode only).
- PHP File – automatically loaded (advanced mode only).
- PHP File (Header) – automatically loaded in wp_head; allows use of add_action, add_filter and add_shortcode (advanced mode only).
Shortcode usage is either [snippet id=1013] (where the supplied id value is a snippet post_id) or [snippet slug='hello-world'].

All snippets are loaded only on the site frontend; this protects the admin dashboard from white screen errors caused by badly formed PHP; only enable PHP if you really know what you’re doing.

Description

Events allows events such as webinars or conferences to be created via a custom post type; categories, excerpt, details, start and end dates and times and a featured image are all supported.

In the options set defaults for the widget and shortcode.

Multiple widgets can be created, each assigned to display a category; settings for title, image size and limit for number of events to list can be set per widget.

The event shortcode accepts three parameters:
- slug to select specific event.
- width to set the size of the featured image.
- height to set the size of the featured image.
Shortcode usage is [event slug="december-2026" width=150 height=150]; all parameters are optional and will use the defaults set via the settings page if not supplied.

The events shortcode accepts four parameters:
- category to restrict the output to the selected category.
- width to set the size of the featured image.
- height to set the size of the featured image.
- limit to restrict the number of events to display.
Shortcode usage is [events category="webinars" width=150 height=150 limit=5]; all parameters are optional and will use the defaults set via the settings page.

All “is this event over yet” checks use your site’s configured timezone (Settings > General > Timezone in the admin), not the timezone of the server itself.

What happened to the To X integration?

The To X integration (and the earlier To Twitter integration it replaced) has been removed as of version 2.1.0, following changes to X’s API that made the integration unviable. Events no longer posts or reposts to X in any way; existing per-event autopost settings are no longer used and can be ignored.

Will uninstalling this plugin delete my events?

Not unless you’ve explicitly opted in via the “Delete event data on uninstall” checkbox on the Widget tab, which is off by default.

- Added an opt-in “Delete event data on uninstall” setting; uninstalling now always clears any pending scheduled posts/reposts, and – only if that setting is enabled – also deletes event posts and their metadata (previously, uninstalling never deleted this data, silently, with no way to opt in).
- Added a “flush_rewrite_rules()” call on activation, fixing event/category URLs occasionally 404ing until something else happened to flush rewrite rules.
- Fixed a bug where the End Date field was marked as required despite the help text saying to leave it blank for a one-day event; End Date is now genuinely optional and defaults to the Start Date when left blank.
- Added Category, Start Date/Time and End Date/Time columns (Start Date/Time sortable) to the Events admin list page.
- Changed the default date format from m/d/Y to d/m/Y.
- Changed the displayed date/time range format from “start date-end date start time-end time” (e.g. “10/09/2026-13/09/2026 10:00-16:00”) to “start date start time -end date end time” (e.g. “10/09/2026 10:00 -13/09/2026 16:00”) for multi-day events.
- Added a Location field (free text) to events, set alongside the start/end dates. Location is shown in the Events admin list column, the Events widget, and the [events]/[event] shortcode output, directly below the date range.
- Renamed the “Event Dates” metabox to “Event Details” to reflect that it now also holds Location.
- Fixed several bugs found during the rebuild: missing output escaping in the Event Dates metabox; a broken settings-saved notice caused by a reference to an undefined variable; a “Use Featured Image” checkbox label that never rendered due to a missing echo; two strings using the wrong translation text domain; a missing defensive check that could emit a PHP warning for an event with incomplete date metadata; use of extract() in the widget class; unversioned/stale-versioned enqueued assets; a generic (rather than plugin-specific) Update Manager image-path filter that could affect other azurecurve plugins’ icons; unescaped taxonomy output; and a metabox nonce action tied to a file path that would have broken under the new file structure.
