Manually embed a collection listing with the provided shortcode and widget. Override the series template with a custom template.

How To Use

Create new Collection terms from the Collection manager under Posts. Add posts to collection either through the quick edit screen or through the full edit screen.

Also In This Collection can be configured to automatically insert a collection listing in posts belonging to a collection.

To do so, navigate to Also In This Collection settings under the settings option.

Settings
- Title heading level sets the HTML tag that will wrap the collection title in collection inserted automatically, with shortcodes, and with widgets.
- Title template picks from a list of title presets for displaying the title, including a preset for no title.
- Automatically display collection listing on post allows for automatic listing insertion in posts that belong to a collection.
- Order of collection display controls the order of posts (newest first or oldest first) in collection listings.
- Window collection listing display creates a window around the current post in a collection listing. This is useful for large collections where it is cumbersome to show the entire listing at once.
- Do not display collection listing prevents the collection listing from being shown. When checked, a link to the collection is always shown.
- Always show collection link forces a link to the collection archive regardless of windowing. When unchecked, a link to the collection will not be shown when the entire collection listing is visible.
Shortcode

To manually insert the collection listing of a post within a collection as part of the content, use the shortcode [alsointhiscollection].

This will have no effect if the post isn’t in a collection.

To manually insert a specific collection, use the collection-slug attribute with the shortcode like [alsointhiscollection collection-slug=”your-collection-slug”].

- Registered the [ti] shortcode alias – the readme and in-admin help text have documented this since 1.0.0, but it was never actually registered.
- Added real settings (Defaults tab: color, background, width, height, line-height, margin, padding, text-align, font-weight), mirroring Page Index. The pre-2.0.0 settings page fetched an option that was never read from or written to; it had no working settings at all.
- Fixed a fatal error (PHP 8+) for an unmatched taxonomy/slug combination – get_term_by()’s result is now checked before use.
- Fixed taxonomy=”tag” always failing to find its term: the ‘tag’ -> ‘post_tag’ remap now happens before the get_term_by() lookup, not after.
- Fixed the post listing incorrectly using the ‘category’ query var (which only ever filters the built-in category taxonomy) for every taxonomy; now uses a tax_query against the actual requested taxonomy, so it works correctly for tags and custom taxonomies too.
- Skipped the sub-term listing query entirely for non-hierarchical taxonomies (e.g. tags), where it could only ever return an empty result.
- Fixed unescaped output (term/category links and names, post permalinks and titles).
- Fixed an inefficient plugin_action_links hook so it no longer runs for every plugin on the Plugins list page.
- Replaced the hard-coded, two-plugin “other plugins” list with a standard, auto-generated Other Plugins tab.
- Replaced the plugin’s shared azurecurve cross-plugin menu population logic (previously re-run unconditionally on every admin_init, always writing to the database) with the activation/upgrade-hook based logic shared with the rest of the azurecurve plugin family, which only writes when something actually changed.
- Corrected the readme’s stale claim that per-site settings needed to be configured, when none previously existed.
- Text domain changed from taxonomy-index to azrcrv-ti, and the languages folder moved from /languages to /assets/languages, matching every other azurecurve plugin. Existing translations will need to be rebuilt against the new domain/path.
- Requires PHP raised from 7.4 to 8.2, matching the rest of the azurecurve plugin family.
- The [taxonomy-index]/[TAXONOMY-INDEX] shortcode names and their taxonomy/slug attributes are unchanged, so existing content keeps working with no migration step.
- Security fix: the Defaults tab’s color/background/width/height/line-height/margin/padding/text-align/font-weight settings were only escaped for safe HTML-attribute placement, not validated as CSS – a value such as “#007fff; border: 3px solid red” passed straight through and injected an extra CSS declaration. Every value is now validated against the specific shape that CSS property can legitimately take (see includes/functions-css-sanitize.php); anything that doesn’t match is discarded outright, on save AND again defensively at output, so a value already stored before this fix self-heals without needing to be re-saved.
- Added a new Border default, e.g. 3px solid red – validated as exactly width style color, each part checked independently.
- Added an Instructions tab to the settings screen – covers basic use, the [ti] alias, hierarchical vs non-hierarchical taxonomy behaviour, and styling. The static description text previously shown above the tabs was moved into this tab rather than being duplicated.
- Update readme.md and remove readme.txt (not required for ClassicPress).

Timelines create a custom post type for timeline entries, grouped by category; a timeline is displayed by adding the [timeline slug="{category slug}"] shortcode, which supports three selectable styles (Classic, Alternating and Compact) via a style attribute.

Integrate with Flags and Nearby to display a country flag next to timeline entry.; Nearby is required for the setting of a country on a post or page.

Description

Events allows events such as webinars or conferences to be created via a custom post type; categories, excerpt, details, start and end dates and times and a featured image are all supported.

In the options set defaults for the widget and shortcode.

Multiple widgets can be created, each assigned to display a category; settings for title, image size and limit for number of events to list can be set per widget.

The event shortcode accepts three parameters:
- slug to select specific event.
- width to set the size of the featured image.
- height to set the size of the featured image.
Shortcode usage is [event slug="december-2026" width=150 height=150]; all parameters are optional and will use the defaults set via the settings page if not supplied.

The events shortcode accepts four parameters:
- category to restrict the output to the selected category.
- width to set the size of the featured image.
- height to set the size of the featured image.
- limit to restrict the number of events to display.
Shortcode usage is [events category="webinars" width=150 height=150 limit=5]; all parameters are optional and will use the defaults set via the settings page.

All “is this event over yet” checks use your site’s configured timezone (Settings > General > Timezone in the admin), not the timezone of the server itself.

Installation
- Download the latest release of the plugin from GitHub.
- Upload the entire zip file using the Plugins upload function in your ClassicPress admin panel.
- Activate the plugin.
- Configure relevant settings via the settings page in the admin control panel (azurecurve menu).

Can I translate this plugin?

Yes, the .pot file is in the plugin’s assets/languages folder and can also be downloaded from the plugin page on https://development.azurecurve.co.uk; if you do translate this plugin, please sent the .po and .mo files to [email protected] for inclusion in the next version (full credit will be given).

Is this plugin compatible with both WordPress and ClassicPress?

This plugin is developed for ClassicPress, but will likely work on WordPress.

What happened to the To X integration?

The To X integration (and the earlier To Twitter integration it replaced) has been removed as of version 2.1.0, following changes to X’s API that made the integration unviable. Events no longer posts or reposts to X in any way; existing per-event autopost settings are no longer used and can be ignored.

Will uninstalling this plugin delete my events?

Not unless you’ve explicitly opted in via the “Delete event data on uninstall” checkbox on the Widget tab, which is off by default.

- Added a “flush_rewrite_rules()” call on activation, fixing event/category URLs occasionally 404ing until something else happened to flush rewrite rules.
- Fixed a bug where the End Date field was marked as required despite the help text saying to leave it blank for a one-day event; End Date is now genuinely optional and defaults to the Start Date when left blank.
- Added Category, Start Date/Time and End Date/Time columns (Start Date/Time sortable) to the Events admin list page.
- Changed the default date format from m/d/Y to d/m/Y.
- Changed the displayed date/time range format from “start date-end date start time-end time” (e.g. “10/09/2026-13/09/2026 10:00-16:00”) to “start date start time -end date end time” (e.g. “10/09/2026 10:00 -13/09/2026 16:00”) for multi-day events.
- Added a Location field (free text) to events, set alongside the start/end dates. Location is shown in the Events admin list column, the Events widget, and the [events]/[event] shortcode output, directly below the date range.
- Renamed the “Event Dates” metabox to “Event Details” to reflect that it now also holds Location.
- Fixed several bugs found during the rebuild: missing output escaping in the Event Dates metabox; a broken settings-saved notice caused by a reference to an undefined variable; a “Use Featured Image” checkbox label that never rendered due to a missing echo; two strings using the wrong translation text domain; a missing defensive check that could emit a PHP warning for an event with incomplete date metadata; use of extract() in the widget class; unversioned/stale-versioned enqueued assets; a generic (rather than plugin-specific) Update Manager image-path filter that could affect other azurecurve plugins’ icons; unescaped taxonomy output; and a metabox nonce action tied to a file path that would have broken under the new file structure.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the plugin fully copy custom post type items?

Yes. The plugin works with all custom post types and the duplicate record contains the same taxonomy associations and metadata as the original.

Can I duplicate an item’s main fields, without the taxonomy and metadata?

No. A partial copy isn’t a carbon copy, after all.

How do I copy something?

Visit the admin page for the post, page, or custom post type that you want to copy. Hover any row and you will see a link to Duplicate the item. If you are currently editing an item, there’s also a Duplicate button available. In either place, you can use CTRL+click to open the newly created item in a new tab.

Where are the setting located?

There are no settings. The plugin is designed to just work.

What about short URLs – won’t duplication break something?

It would, yes. And that’s why, when you duplicate an item that supports permalinks, the newly created item will have a hyphen and a number appended to it. You can then change the permalink for the new item to whatever you like. And, if you happen to forget to change the permalink on the new item, at least it won’t break anything.

- Login to your ClassicPress website.
- Navigate to Dashboard > Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin
- Upload the zip file to your site
- Click to Install the plugin
- Click to Activate the plugin
