The Enriched Editor plugin adds lots of additional options to the ClassicPress visual editor. This plugin is a fork of TinyMCE Advanced for WordPress and contains no Gutenberg code.

Pre-Installation

If you already have TinyMCE Advanced or WYWIWYG Advanced installed, you will need to deactivate and delete before installing Enriched Editor. If you want to preserve your current editor settings, you can export them to a text file before deleting the current plugin. You can then import those settings back into Enriched Editor after you get it installed.

Editor Options
- Enable Editor for Primary Screens
  Enable the Enriched Editor for primary editing screens, including those for posts, pages, and custom post types.
- Enable Editor for Secondary Areas
  Enable the Enriched Editor for secondary editing areas, including those for text widgets and other textarea inputs.
- Enable Editor for Public Use
  Enable the Enriched Editor for public use, such as in user comments and other textarea inputs.
- Advanced Menu
  Enable the advanced menu (File, Edit, Insert, View, Format, Table, and Tools) for the first row.
- Enhanced Lists
  Enable advanced list options, including upper-case, lower-case, disk, square, circle, etc.
- Right-Click
  Enable link insertion by right-clicking the editor.
- Simplified Links
  Use a simplified dialog for creating links.
- Font Sizing
  Use pixels (instead of points) for font sizes.
- Preserve Paragraphs
  Preserve <p> and <br> tags without replacing them.
- Custom Style Menu
  Pull custom styles from an editor-style.css file and add them to a drop-down menu.

The Estimated Read Time plugin for ClassicPress allows you to display expected reading times on your articles and summaries. The average person reads at 200 words per minute, so, that’s the default setting. You can change it with a simple filter to suit your own audience and content.

This plugin is multisite compatible; each site will need settings to be configured in the admin dashboard.

Installation
- Download the latest release of the plugin from GitHub.
- Upload the entire zip file using the Plugins upload function in your ClassicPress admin panel.
- Activate the plugin.
To provide the most versatile placement options, the estimated read time display is implemented with a shortcode that is designed to be placed in your theme template files. It may require some experimenting to find just the right templates for your particular theme, but you can try the content.php, single.php, archive.php, and page.php templates as a starting point.

Note that the shortcode is designed to work in templates that are in the loop, so you won’t be able to place the shortcode in, say, your header.php or footer.php files. See the examples below and place one or the other into your theme’s template file(s) where you would like the estimated read time to be displayed.

There is only a single setting, you can use this filter in a functionality plugin or functions.php file:

If you are using a theme that is a parent theme (as opposed to a child theme) you will need to be cautious about updating your theme because the update will overwrite all the theme files. To avoid this, you have several options, as follows. Options are listed in the order of preference.
1. use a child theme and add your shortcodes to your child theme’s templates, or
2. use a theme that you built yourself to avoid surprise updates, or
3. carefully copy your shortcodes out of your theme files before updating, then replacing them afterward, or
4. continue using the parent theme, but don’t update it.

Yes, the .pot file is in the plugins languages folder and can also be downloaded from the plugin page on https://development.azurecurve.co.uk; if you do translate this plugin, please sent the .po and .mo files to [email protected] for inclusion in the next version (full credit will be given).

Is this plugin compatible with both WordPress and ClassicPress?

This plugin is developed for ClassicPress, but will likely work on WordPress.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will the plugin fully copy custom post type items?

Yes. The plugin works with all custom post types and the duplicate record contains the same taxonomy associations and metadata as the original.

Can I duplicate an item’s main fields, without the taxonomy and metadata?

No. A partial copy isn’t a carbon copy, after all.

How do I copy something?

Visit the admin page for the post, page, or custom post type that you want to copy. Hover any row and you will see a link to Duplicate the item. If you are currently editing an item, there’s also a Duplicate button available. In either place, you can use CTRL+click to open the newly created item in a new tab.

Where are the setting located?

There are no settings. The plugin is designed to just work.

What about short URLs – won’t duplication break something?

It would, yes. And that’s why, when you duplicate an item that supports permalinks, the newly created item will have a hyphen and a number appended to it. You can then change the permalink for the new item to whatever you like. And, if you happen to forget to change the permalink on the new item, at least it won’t break anything.

- Login to your ClassicPress website.
- Navigate to Dashboard > Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin
- Upload the zip file to your site
- Click to Install the plugin
- Click to Activate the plugin
